Regional Groups

Regional groups can play an important role in coordinating free access to important resources like garden soil, tools, lumber, and especially land. They can also help get people together locally to lobby for policy changes at the state, county, or municipal level.

The Cooperative Gardens Commission (CGC) is a decentralized movement. Anyone working in line with our principles and goals is encouraged to use the Cooperative Gardens Commission name to help rally support and build solidarity around food justice in your region.

If you’d like some assistance or guidance in how to set up a regional group (start an email listserv, create a Facebook group, organizing conference calls, etc) please don’t hesitate to contact CGC organizers at cooperativegardens@gmail.com.
