Coop Gardens Commission Facebook Community Guidelines
Last updated 1/25/21
This Facebook group is an arm of the larger work of the Cooperative Gardens Commission. We are a decentralized collective of volunteers working together to increase community food production, facilitate resource-sharing, and support food sovereignty, particularly in communities that struggled under food apartheid before the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have worked together to develop a list of Community Agreements that ground our work and frame the work we wish to do. Please familiarize yourself with these agreements as you navigate this space. CGC Community Agreements
Coop Gardens Commission Admins are empowered to ensure that participants are in line with these guidelines as well as the community agreements posted above. If a member of the group steps out of these lines, they will be engaged by an admin to rectify the situation. If necessary, admins can remove members from the group, delete posts, close comments, and other necessary steps to ensure the conversation is in line with our FB guidelines and Community Agreements. Ultimately, we want to work with respect for one another towards a common goal of food security and in support of local sustainable food systems. Thank you for joining this conversation! Please familiarize yourself with the following guidelines and reach out to admins with any questions or concerns.
Be Kind and Courteous
We’re all in this together. Social media can bring a feeling of anonymity, sometimes make us say things we wouldn’t say to a neighbor's face. We ask that you share the same respect you’d like to receive. Show kindness and remember we’re all people on the other side of the screen.
No Hate Speech or Bullying
Bullying of any kind is definitely not tolerated and degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity will not be allowed. Any sign of bullying and hate speech are grounds for immediate removal from the group.
Please consider the purpose of the group and stick to the theme.
